Hey all,

I am a British citizen with permanent residency in Spain who may be starting a new job in the Netherlands with accommodation provided and obviously the company will sort out my work permit.

The company have said my partner can also stay in the accommodation. She is from the Philippines and also has Spanish residency. We also have a Spanish civil partnership together.

What I want to know is would she be able to get a work permit to maybe get a part-time or full-time job when we are there?

Thanks so much in advance!

As these situations would still be relevant to other expats I will respond, so there's 2 routes here that would work best to inform:

a. Try ing the particular "gemeente" (city hall) where you want to live. Just search for 'gemeente [cityname]' and you will find it. Each gemeente has a department that helps with any questions related to work/living for expats, refugees, temp workers and visitors

b. The HR-department or Personnel istrations of Employment agencies could also help you out. They specifically know a lot about laws regarding temp work, housing and staying in the Netherlands. Many people start at a temp agency and from there stay at the company they work(ed) for. Which agency you can best depends on the sort of job you want. For example: Randstad and Tempo-team offer a wide range of jobs. But probably the 'a bit smaller temp agencies' might be more willing to help like for example uitzendbureau Unique, Uitzendbureau Manpower, Startpeople or Uitzendbureau Prestatie Personeelsdiensten.

Please note I can only speak for how helpful uitzendbureau Prestatie is regarding these topics as I worked with them
