I've recently recieved an offer for employment at a large banking corporate in Paris. It is the initial offer and would like to understand if the offer is fair, if I should negotiate portions of it, considerations relocating, especially from South Africa.
Context: I will be relocating with my wife and our 8 year old daughter. The assumption will be that the Mrs will not have employment for a period of time and we will therefore be a one income household.
Details of the offer:
FIXED
• Gross annual fixed salary (13 monthly payments) 78 000 € (monthly: 6 000 €)

Gross Annual Eorfait (payment in each January for a whole year) which represents 2.3% of
in
the gross annual fixed salary: 1794 €
The company will pay immediate contribution of 23% of social charges that are deducted from your gross
salary.
The social charges are contributions for health, unemployment and retirement. This gives you access to the
Social Security French system.
The Income Tax will be paid monthly on your payslip, (regularization will be done once a year after deposit of
the French tax return)
VARIABLE
Annual Gross Individual Variable for 100% ear and 100% annual target: 12 000€ paid in
March -for the results of the year before
This amount will be submitted to social charges of 23% of the gross amount.
This amount may change according to your performance and the results of our company.
It does not include Income Tax.
The first year of your arrival, you wlill be submitted to bonus sourcing.
• Gross Collective Variable _(French system of Participation and Intéressement):
You will benefit from this variable as a employee. We cannot communicate this amount
because the amounts for 2025 have not yet been defined.
Estimated amount for a full year of presence: about 8 - 10 % of the gross salary (paid between March and June
on the next year) - the amount will be prorated based on your time in the current year.
=> Total CASH gross estimated (fixed + variable remuneration): 91794 €
OTHER ELEMENTS:
For every employee :
Holidays: you are entitled to around 42 days per
year separated in 2 categories: paid days and rest days.
For rest days, it depends on the year and it changes every year (16 rest days in 2024)
You will benefit from an internal restaurant
Company contribution for public transportation
Additional/ complementary Health Insurance (Hepper,Swisslife "Mutuelle"): company will subscribe for you a mutual
insurance, it's mandatory. You may pay an additional amount as a complementary contribution which enables
you to be better protected. The total amount of this option is 17.87 €/month.
If you choose higher guaranties, it will cost 13 euros extra per month. The amount will be deducted from your
salary every month.
You will have the opportunity to add subscription for your family on this Health Insurance.
Income Tax: to be evaluated for a single person and for one full year.
The Income Tax is deducted monthly directly from the salary. Our consulting firm wlill explain in detail the
important points of French taxation during a meeting that we will organize for you.
Here are the services we offer to employees as part of a local-to-local movement:
Temporary accommodation for a maximum period of 2 months.
Assistance in finding permanent housing.
-Tax assistance provided by KPMG,
Handling of the move.
Resumption of seniority
Language courses (Amount to be validated with the future manager)
